This week we are looking at Northern Thunder ahead to the big 2012 FIAT Netball Superleague finals on Sunday by looking at the remaining teams, their season so far and their chances of success…
Thunder will go in as on of the favourites for the remarkable season they have had so far. The yellow and black breezed into the final four winning 7 from 7 and racking up a plus 174 goal difference. This put them into a strong position for the final four where they continued their domination until a single point loss to Surrey Storm broke their 100% record.
A further loss to Storm led them to finish the group runners up and now must face Mavericks in the semi finals, where they will likely face Storm again for the prize.
Thunder will be looking to finish strongly with coach Tracey Neville hoping to win Thunder’s first ever Superleague title. Tomorrow we will look at their biggest hurdle to that prize; Tamsin Greenway’s Surrey Storm.
