This week we are looking at Team Bath ahead to the big 2012 FIAT Netball Superleague finals on Sunday by looking at the remaining teams, their season so far and their chances of success…
Team Bath are the most successful side in Netball Superleague history, but it would be one of their greatest achievements ever to beat the favourites and claim the title this time.
The new format changes meant that four sides would break off into the top tier, and with Storm, Mavericks and Thunder likely to take 3 of those places it was always going to be a battle for the last spot. After the first round Bath sat level with Celtic Dragons and Yorkshire Jets on 9, a 4 point win over Jets securing their 4th sport on goal difference. In the second phase they were were beaten in every fixture but recorded some close results against Mavericks to show they still possess a danger. Finally they took on Celtic Dragons in a playoff to book their place against Surrey Storm in the finals.
Team Bath go into the finals as the underdogs but have the potential to cause an upset. Regardless of who wins the 2012 Netball Superleague this weekend the season has provided great entertainment and befitted from the exciting new format.
We would like to wish best of luck to all sides this coming weekend and look forward to the 2013 season already!
